Wilson Hall Media Studio


The Wilson Hall Media Studio is a video production and editing lab, as well as the location for equipment checkout. If you are interested in using it, please contact JasonBennett@virginia.edu.

Hours & Location


The Media Studio is open for walk-in between 10am - 4pm. You may also complete an orientation to gain access to the Media Studio outside normal business hours for use on your own. Please contact JasonBennett@virginia.edu to get an orientaiton.

It is located in Wilson 235.  


Room & Equipment Reservation

If you are interested in reserving the green screen in the Media Studio or equipment such as video cameras and audio recorders, please visit our reservation system. There you will see a complete list of our available equipment as well as have the opportunity to make a reservation. 



Video Production

The Media Stuio has a small video production studio within it, featuring the following equipment:

  • Two Canon XA10 Video Cameras
  • Green / Blue Screen
  • Teleprompter
  • Three Studio Lights 
  • Various backdrops

Multimedia Editing

The Studio features eight iMacs with the following software:

  • Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection
  • Final Cut Pro X
  • Camtasia 2


Media Studio Server

The Media Studio is equipped with an ultra high-speed connection to an ITS server. This will allow you to work collaboratively while in the studio as well as store your work securely.

Media Studies-Designated Equipment

We partner with the Media Studies department to help manage some of their equipment for their students. If you are a Media Studies student or taking a Media Studies class, please e-sign this document to gain access to Media Studies equipment:

You will need to sign into the equipment reservation system if you haven't already to create an account: LDTReservations.as.virginia.edu

Your reservation account must be authorized manually, so please allow for 24 hours before trying to reserve Media Studies-designated equipment. You will receive a confirmation email when your account is authorized.
